It was founded in 1930 in Ironbridge Shropshire.
All Merrythought Bears and Gollies are still made

Merrythought Golden Mohair Bear (35GMGR) |
This lovely jointed traditional English Teddy Bear has been made from 100% pure mohair. The smooth gold coloured mohair bear has a black hand stitched nose and mouth, black plastic eyes and brown felt pads.
This wonderful bear has a tilt growler
The bear stands 13¾''(35cm) tall.
Would make a wonderful christening present.

Merrythought Curly Gold Musical Bear |
A really lovely 'English' Teddy Bear made from a quality wavy gold mohair. The bear is fully jointed and measures 18" (46cm) tall. He looks very smart with his blue ribbon edged in a gold colour. This bear has an internal music box and when wound will play "Teddy Bear's Picnic".
Conforms to European Safety Standards.

He is made from a blond wavy mohair with brown felt pads, and a black hand-stitched nose and mouth. On his right foot he has a Merrythought Label with the words ''Hand Made in England''. He is fully jointed, wears a nice red bow with gold edging and measures 12'' tall. Would make a wonderful christening present or a child's first teddy bear.
