Merrythought is the oldest surviving traditional teddy bear company in England.
It was founded in 1930 in Ironbridge Shropshire by
the grandfather of the present owner, Oliver Holmes.
All Merrythought Bears and Gollies are still made
in the traditional way at Ironbridge Shropshire. |

This lovely jointed traditional English Teddy Bear has been made from 100% pure mohair. The smooth gold coloured mohair bear has a black hand stitched nose and mouth, black plastic eyes and brown felt pads. The bear stands 12'' tall.

This is a new bear which has been made from the original 1930's hand-drawn pattern by Florence Attwood.
He is made from a blond wavy mohair with brown felt pads, and a black hand-stitched nose and mouth. On his right foot he has a Merrythought Label with the words ''Hand Made in England''. He is fully jointed, wears a nice red bow with gold edging and measures 12'' tall. Would make a wonderful christening present or a child's first teddy bear.
